Jewelry Care

Gold Vermeil

Our gold vermeil jewelry is made with a thick layer of 14k solid gold over 925 sterling silver. Unlike gold-plated jewelry (which uses a thin flash of gold over cheaper metals), vermeil is water-resistant, more durable, and made entirely of precious metals.

To care for your vermeil:

  • Avoid water, perfumes, and abrasive cleaners.

  • Gently wipe with a soft microfiber cloth after each wear.

  • Jewelry should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.

Pearls

Pearls are delicate by nature, but with the right care, they’ll stay radiant for years. Pearls actually benefit from being worn—your natural skin oils help them retain moisture and prevent cracking.

To care for your pearls:

  1. Never clean pearls with steam or ultrasonic cleaners.

  2. Avoid contact with chemicals, perfumes, and cosmetics.

Rule of Thumb: Pearls are the last item on, first item off.

  3. Wipe with a soft cloth after each wear.

  4. For deeper cleaning, use a soft cloth and a mild dish soap + warm water solution.

    • Do not submerge if the pearls are strung on silk.

    • Lay flat to dry completely before storing.

  5. Have pearls professionally cleaned and inspected once a year.

    • If worn weekly, silk-strung pearls should be re-strung annually.

Final Tip

Store your jewelry in a dry, soft-lined box or pouch. Keep it away from sunlight, moisture, and other items that may scratch or damage it.

With just a little care, your jewelry will continue to shine beautifully for years to come. If you ever have questions about caring for your piece, we're always here to help.
